An accused drunken driver hit three Amish buggies Sunday, injuring four, and fled from the scene, authorities said. The accident occurred in Jackson County, Wis., police said. The buggies were struck from behind, authorities said, and the driver of the car was later arrested.
The buggy passengers were all males age 17-19, police said. One was taken to Osseo Hospital with serious injuries, authorities said. Two passengers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The fourth was treated at the scene for minor injuries, authorities said. Police report that the incident is the woman’s fourth offense for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
