Milwaukee Crash Sends Two Cars Flying Toward Pedestrians

A fiery Milwaukee car accident Sunday resulted in no injuries, and witnesses say its a miracle.

According to officials with the Milwaukee Police Department, a speeding car ran a red light and slammed into an oncoming vehicle shortly after 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning at the intersection of 35th Street and National Avenue.  Casper Garcia heard it from his house: “Like a bomb, somebody threw a bomb somewhere, it sounded that way,” said Garcia.

The impact of the crash sent both cars careening toward the sidewalk. That’s where Peter Waupoose’s girlfriend and nephew were standing. “They started running, because they seen the car on the sidewalk coming, so they just ran,” said Waupoose. “It scares me. It scares all the people.”

Milwaukee Police have not released details on the nature or extent of injuries in the crash. Officials have not said whether any charges will be filed.
