A Skywest Airlines plane was forced to make a crash landing in Milwaukee Tuesday night after its landing gear would not fully open.
According to officials with the General Mitchell International airport, the CRJ200 was carrying 36 passengers and three crew members on-board when it crash landed. The crew knew of the landing gear malfunction during flight and had radioed ahead to let authorities know the situation.
Only two of the three sets of landing gear would open on the aircraft. All three landing gear apparatuses are required for a successful landing. The plane was able to land without incident. Nobody on-board was injured.
A spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration says the agency will be investigating the incident.
