A woman was killed in a Milwaukee pedestrian accident Monday afternoon.

According to officials with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, the accident occurred near South 20th Street and West layton Avenue. The victim was identified as 55 year-old Susan M. Luczkowiak. According to Milwaukee Police Department officer Crystal Williams’ official report, Luczkowia was “lying between the back two sets of tires on the truck. It appeared that she had been dragged for about 20-25 feet before the dump truck stopped and she was resting under the wheels.

The truck was owned by the Kelly Company and was being driven by 38 year-old Stennen N. Jackson. Jackson said Luczkowiak ran across the Layton Ave. while he made a right turn. “He would have been looking left to check for traffic going northbound. Traffic was clear and he made the right as the pedestrian ran across the street toward the truck.”

The Milwaukee Police Department continues to investigate the crash.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.
