Police have released the names of two women killed in a Milwaukee car accident Sunday.

According to officials with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, 23 year-old Carmen Castellano, of Milwaukee, and 20 year-old Victoria Gidlund, of Greenfield, were killed in a car accident shortly after 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Police accident reports say Castellano had just picked up Gidlund from her job when she was sideswiped by a vehicle Sunday.

The force of the impact sent the Castellano’s vehicle, a Subaru, skidding sideways. The car struck a tree on the side of the roadway.

Castellano and Gidlund were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

No one in the other car was injured. The crash remains under investigation by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims families and friends.
