Pedestrian Killed on U.S. 41 Believed to be Milwaukee Man

An autopsy is planned for a man who was killed in a Milwaukee car accident Saturday.

According to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office, the victim is believed to be a 27 year-old man from the Milwaukee area, but positive identification is pending. The autopsy was to be conducted at the office of the Fond du Lac County medical examiner.

According to officials with the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the incident in the northbound lane of U.S. 41 about a half-mile south of State 26 shortly after 11:00 p.m. Saturday. Sgt. Steve Brewer said an adult male was pronounced dead at the scene after a vehicle traveling north on 41 struck him as he was walking in the same lane.

The accident remains under investigation by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department.
