Four people were injured in a Milwaukee car accident on thecity’s north side Thursday.
According to Milwaukee Police Department spokeswoman Anne E.Schwartz, the crash was not the result of a police pursuit. The accident, whichoccurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of North 6thand West Center Streets, came after officers attempted to stop a car driven by aknown drug dealer, Schwartz said. The car had pulled away from a house where aninvestigation was being conducted.
The suspected drug dealer sped away from officers andcrashed into another vehicle. A squad-car that captured the incident on video neverreached speeds of more than 30 mph, according to Schwartz. The suspect vehiclewas more than two blocks away at the time of the crash.
Four people sustained minor injuries in the accident. Allfour victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment. The names ofthe people involved have not been released.
