A man was injured in a Milwaukee truck accident Thursday morning.
According to officials with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office, a truck driver lost control of histractor-trailer in the northbound lanes of Interstate 43 at the Marquette Interchange near Wisconsin Avenue shortly before 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Deputies said pieces of metal debris fell onto Interstate 794 eastbound, requiring lane closures until the clean up was complete around 1:30 p.m.
Authorities will seek charges of failure to control vehicle and load spillage on the roadway, deputies said.
The truck driver was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment after the crash. No information on the nature or extent of his injuries was available.
A hazardous materials team wasbrought to the scene of the accident to clean up the diesel fuel that had leaked onto the freeway.
