A Milwaukee car accident that took place in the north downtown area early Monday morning killed one woman and critically injured another.
According to Milwaukee police who are investigating the incident, the vehicle looked like it had run into a pole around the intersection of West Vilet Street and North 6th Street. The impact from slamming into the pole caused both female passengers to be thrown from the vehicle.
Although the cause of the crash is still under investigation, it is believed that the vehicle was being driven at a dangerously fast speed and that alcohol was involved. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to a local hospital to be treated for critical injuries. It is still unknown which of the two women was driving the vehicle.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.
