Reckless drivers on Wisconsin highways are highly responsible for 569 traffic fatalities that occurred in 2011.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation released data for 2011, which showed that for the fourth year in a row there were less than 600 traffic-related deaths across the state.

Vehicle accidents as well as pedestrian and bicycle accidents increased by seven fatalities in 2011, but this number was balanced out by an 18 percent decrease in motorcycle accidents. In 2011, 85 motorcyclists lost their lives, compared to 103 who passed away in 2010.
