On Tuesday, Kia announced a recall of the 2006-2008 Rio models after a glitch with the airbag sensor system was detected. This problem affected thousands of vehicles.
The second recall came just one day later, after a different Kia model was found to have a defect. The 2009 Borrego was determined to have a faulty brake pedal. This pedal was considered to be weak, and would cause the vehicle to not stop completely in an accident. Over 21,900 Borregos were recalled due to this problem.
Kia has also announced that they will fix both defects for free. Beginning next month, owners of the recalled vehicles will just have to visit a dealer in their area, and the problems will be corrected.
