A staff member at Camp Tawonga, a summer camp near Yosemite National Park, was killed and four others were hurt after a tree fell on the morning of July 3.
Camp Tawonga officials said 21-year-old Annais Rittenberg died after an oak tree fell while she, other staff members, and campers were having breakfast. No children were hurt in the incident but four other adults were transported to nearby hospitals due to the injuries they sustained.
An official from Pacific Gas & Electric Co., the company responsible for the inspection of this particular tree inside the camp, said they will make sure to cooperate with investigators.
An executive director in Camp Tawonga said Rittenberg was a beloved member of their staff.
