A road worker in Brown County suffered serious injuries after a vehicle struck him, postcrescent.com reported on May 19.
Reports coming from the County Sheriff’s Office stated that the incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m. on the east lane of Wisconsin 172. A 64-year-old worker who was part of a survey crew was attempting to cross the road when a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old man struck him. Responding authorities noted that though the injured worker was wearing high-visibility apparel, their work site lacked road warnings for vehicle drivers to be aware of workers in the area. The driver was reportedly driving under the speed limit and was not intoxicated when the crash occurred.
