Posted on June 12, 2014 1:43 pm under Food Defects

California-based company Olde Thompson issued a recall of thousands of cases of Kirkland ground pepper that may contain harmful salmonella bacteria, CBS Detroit on June 9 stated.

According to Olde Thomspon, at least 5,000 cases of 12 ounce Kirkland Signature Coarse Ground Malabar Pepper may have been contaminated with salmonella. Many of the pepper products were distributed at Costco stores nationwide. They were sold from April to June 2014 and had an expiration date of March 2017. Consumers were advised to immediately discard the product and call Olde Thompson to get more information.
