A family in Michigan is filing a lawsuit against Chrysler in connection with a vehicle explosion that recently resulted in a pregnant woman’s death, a report on CBS Detroit said November 18.
A lawyer representing White’s family claimed that Jeep Liberty driven by Kayla was part of a delayed Chrysler recall. Kayla’s Jeep recently exploded after it was struck by another vehicle from behind due to an ill-placed gas tank. Though Kayla was apparently aware that her vehicle was part of the recall, the repaired was not made because she was allegedly told by a local dealer that the component that needed to be installed was not available. Chrysler sympathized with White’s family, but also denied that there were any shortages of the replacement part.
