Wisconsin cheese plant fire under investigation

Posted on December 31, 2014 12:54 pm under Personal Injury

Earlier this month, WSAW reported that a cheese plant fire in Wisconsin is still under investigation. Associated Milk Producers Inc. suffered a fire outbreak that lasted an entire night. Firefighters were eventually able to put the fire out, but firefighters from over 25 fire departments responded to the terrific blaze.

Authorities are still unsure what exactly caused the fire at the cheese processing plant. There were many workers inside a dry storage warehouse, the structure that contained the fire, although fortunately, none have yet reported an injury. Reports also claimed that there was minimal damage to the production equipment within the warehouse, meaning that operations as usual may resume more quickly.

WSAW reported that the clean up after the fire was put out involved a critical process of picking up cardboard and other flammable materials on the site to prevent another, potentially worse, flare up. Investigations are ongoing into the source / cause of the fire.

The workers at AMPI were lucky to not be injured, but a fire in the workplace can easily result in terrible injuries to innocent employees and even passerby.
