Some 38,000 recent models of Volkswagen vehicles in the U.S. that may catch fire are being recalled by its manufacturer, an article on wivb.com reported December 31.

According to reports, various 2014 and 2015 Volkswagens are at risk of catching fire if leaking fuel reaches the engine. Operators of the affected vehicles may possibly detect the problem if they smell gas while inside the vehicle. Volkswagen stated that they are unaware of incidents of injuries or fire involving the recalled vehicles. Owners are urged to have their vehicles repaired immediately, especially if they notice smell of gas or if the power control warning light turns on.
