An estimated 6.6 million units of compact brewing systems in the U.S. are being recalled by its manufacturer due to possible injuries it may cause to its users, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported on December 23.
Keurig Green Mountain reportedly issued a recall to their “MINI Plus Brewing Systems” that may have burn hazards if boiling water suddenly is expelled from the brewer. The company was notified of hundreds of incidents of hot water escaping from the brewers, 90 of those cases resulted in injury to users. People who owned the recalled brewers are advised to contact the manufacturer for a free repair and information on how to prevent being injured by the affected products.
