Underestimating prostate cancer

Posted on January 21, 2015 8:58 am under Medical Malpractice

The prostate is a walnut-sized gland located just beneath the bladder and in front of the rectum. It is responsible for producing seminal fluid that nourishes, protects, and transports the sperm. When cancer cells develop in the prostate, prostate cancer occurs.

Symptoms of prostate cancer vary depending on the type of cancer. Some types of prostate cancer are not as aggressive and may require little to no treatment. Some types, however, are aggressive and may metastasize easily. Unfortunately, a study conducted by Cambridge University in the U.K. found that approximately half of the men who were told they had less advanced or serious prostate cancer were actually suffering from a more severe form.

Underestimating the severity of a disease can be an indication of medical negligence. If your medical staff has been too reckless in under-diagnosing your actual condition in Milwaukee, consider filing a legal claim with the help of our team of medical malpractice attorneys at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®.
