Probar LLC recalls its peanut butter bars for undeclared milk content

Posted on January 29, 2015 8:27 am under Product Liability

Probar LLC issued a voluntary nationwide recall of PROBAR Base® Frosted Peanut Butter Bars due to an undeclared milk allergen that may possibly cause a serious allergic reaction among people who are sensitive to milk, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration stated on January 26.

The affected products are in 2.46 oz packages and were distributed with lot codes beginning with 24289, 24188, and 24160. The lot codes can be found on the outer seal of the package. Probar LLC has already received two reports of allergic reactions related to this issue.

The company urges consumers to contact them to learn details on how to return the product for a refund.

Severe allergic reactions, such as anaphylaxis, due to undeclared allergens may cause severe symptoms that could ultimately result in death.
