CR Brands recalls mislabeled cleaning products

CR Brands is recalling about 83,800 products of Mean Green® Super Strength Cleaner & Degreaser and Mean Green® Industrial Strength Cleaner & Degreaser due to an unlisted chemical that might cause dangerous chemical reactions when mixed with other household chemicals, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) stated on January 29.

The affected products, which are labeled “Does not contain ammonia,” actually contain ammonia that may cause dangerous reactions when mixed with other household chemicals. The recalled products are 20oz Mean Green Super Strength Spray with UPC 720547001208, 40oz Mean Green Super Strength Spray with UPC 720547001406, 128oz Mean Green Super Strength with UPC 720547001017, and 128oz Mean Green Industrial Strength with UPC 720547001024. The date codes of the recalled products are 4225, 4226, 4227, 4228, 4229 and 4230.

The affected products were sold at Dollar General, Family Dollar, Wal-Mart, Fred’s and several other retailers across the country between August and November 2014. Consumers are asked to return the affected product for replacement.
