Sunbeam recalled approximately 34,000 Holmes oil-filled heaters after 40 reports of defective units spewing heated oil, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published on its website on January 29.

The affected units have model numbers HOH3000 and HOH3000B, are black or white in color, and are approximately 23 inches in height, 6 inches in length, and 12 inches in depth. The recalled units also bear codes ranging from G192 to G298 on the heater plug blade. These defective heaters were sold at Target and small department stores across the U.S. between August 2014 and November 2014.

Reports of property damages have been received, although no report of human injury has been recorded. Consumers are urged to contact the company for refund details.

Defective oil-filled heaters like this may increase the risk of scalding and burn among consumers. If you have been hurt by a defective product in Madison, do not hesitate to seek legal help.
