Performance Packaging recalls baby food pouch toppers for choking risk

Posted on February 5, 2015 4:06 pm under Defective Child Care Products

Performance Packaging issued a voluntary safety recall of approximately 6,000 PouchPop™ Topper after learning about its choking risk, a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) stated on February 3.

PouchPop™ Toppers are self-feeding attachments that twist in a baby food pouch. According to the report, the tube of the PouchPop™ Toppers may detach from the base, posing a choking risk to infants when in use. The company learned about the issue after receiving four reports of tube separation. The recalled products were packed in sets of four, and were sold online between May and September 2014.

Affected consumers are asked to contact the company for details about product replacement or refund.
