Variety store chain Family Dollar issued a recall of Tough Treadz Auto Carrier Toy Sets after learning that the die-cast metal cars included in the set have sharp edges that may cause laceration, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported on February 4.

The toy set comes with a plastic toy truck carrying six die-cast metal cars in different colors. The affected products have UPC codes of 678565114083, 678565114090, and 678565114106. The toys were manufactured in China and sold in Family Dollar Stores nationwide between September 2014 and December 2014. Approximately 254,000 toys are affected by the recall.

The company advised the consumers to return the recalled product for a full refund.

Dangerous toys would never have made their way to store shelves if manufacturers and importers had not been negligent enough to disregard safety regulations.
