Posted on February 17, 2015 2:37 pm under Product Liability

San Francisco-based candy manufacturer and distributor See’s Company has issued a nationwide recall of all Classic Red Hearts with Assorted Chocolates after learning that the package contains undeclared tree nuts that can cause severe, sometimes even life-threatening allergic reactions among those sensitive to tree nuts, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration stated on February 6.

The affected products have a bar code of 737666091201 and a stamped date of L.A.N. 048/15. The products were packed in 8oz Red Heart boxes and sold at See’s Candies Retail Stores across the U.S. and through Mail Order. Consumers who have allergic reactions to tree nuts are urged by the company to return the recalled product to the place of purchase for a product exchange or full refund.
