Jackco Transnational recalls its ZETA Pocket Jump Starter – Deluxe Set after learning that the battery packs may overheat, split apart, and melt its casing, possibly leading to fire, according to the report published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on February 12.

The company initiated the recall after receiving 487 reports of battery failure and two fire incidents that resulted in property damage. The affected units have a date code of XM201407XXXXXX and can be located beneath the product label. The products were sold between July 2014 and January 2015 at different retailers nationwide and online at Amazon.com.

Customers are asked to call the company for instructions on how to safely dispose the product and how to secure a full refund.
