High precision tool manufacturer Pressmaster is recalling its Xcelite cable stripping tools after it found that the plastic end cap of the tool might fly off during use or while in storage, posing an impact hazard to users, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported on February 19.
The CPSC said more than 300 items are affected by the recall. The affected tools are colored black, have ‘Xcelite CJS 200’ printed on the item’s face, and are approximately 6 inches long. The recalled items were sold online at Amazon.com and at hardware and industrial retail stores across the U.S. between August 2014 and November 2014.
Affected consumers are asked to contact Pressmaster for a free product replacement.
