Efco Gas Trimmers recalled over injury reports

Cutting and power tools dealer efco is recalling its efco Gas Trimmers after receiving multiple reports of engine muffler breakage, posing risks of burn and fire hazard, according to a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on March 10.

The company initiated the recall of about 1,900 efco Gas Trimmers in light of 11 consumer reports of muffler failure, two of which resulted in burnt hair. The recalled products have either a loop or a bike-type handle configuration, and were sold in two engine sizes with three different engine models:  36cc engine with models 8371 S and 8371 T, and 40.2cc engine with model 8421 T engine displacement.

Affected customers can return their defective products to any authorized efco dealer nationwide for a free replacement.
