Listeria risk prompts Twin City Foods to recall spinach food products

Posted on April 1, 2015 9:28 am under Defective Food Product

Twin City Foods, Inc. is recalling several of its food brands that contain spinach after learning that the products may contain disease-causing Listeria, a press statement released by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration stated on March 24.

Affected products distributed to warehouses in Wisconsin include Meijer Organics Chopped Spinach sold in 16 oz. frozen packages. It has a UPC of 41250 02362, and a package code of BEST BY FEB 2017 50415. The company initiated the move after its supplier, Coastal Green Vegetable Company LLC, recalled volumes of spinach over the possibility of Listeria contamination.

Affected consumers are asked not to eat the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

Illnesses caused by Listeria infection could translate to lost time at work, hefty medical bills, and severe health complications. If you think a contaminated food product in Wisconsin has caused you great harm, do not hesitate to take legal action.
