New York-based Silver Lake Cookie Company, Inc., has issued a voluntary recall of its Easter Egg Cookies after learning that the product labels did not list eggs among the ingredients, causing the risk of a severe, possibly life-threatening allergic reaction to those sensitive to it, a report by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration stated on March 27.
The recall involves all lots of Silver Lake brand Easter Egg Cookies sold in 8 OZ (226 g). Affected products have a UPC of 0 37695 49817 1, and were sold in several different states, including Wisconsin. No reports of illness have been associated with the issue.
Consumers affected by the recall are advised to dispose of the product. They are also encouraged to contact the company for recall details.
