Hockey goalie masks and replacements recalled after laceration reports

Bauer Hockey is recalling about 1,200 of its hockey goalie masks and replacement wire cages after learning that the wire cages might break and cause laceration hazards, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission stated on March 31.

The affected products are the RP NME Ti Titanium Replacement cage and the cages on the NME 10 Goal Mask with Certified Titanium Oval Wire and C1 Goal Mask with Certified Titanium Oval Wire. The recall was initiated after Bauer Hockey received nine reports of cage breakage, four of which resulted in lacerations.

Affected consumers are urged not to use the products and to contact the company immediately for a free replacement and a complimentary throat protector.
