Hope Foods recalls Kale Pesto Hummus over undeclared walnuts

Posted on April 3, 2015 1:19 pm under Defective Food Product

Less than 3,100 units of Kale Pesto Hummus were voluntarily recalled by Colorado-based Hope Foods after learning that the products contain undeclared walnuts, which may put individuals sensitive to walnuts at risk of a severe allergic reaction, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration stated on April 1.

The recalled products were sold in 8 oz. plastic tubs with UPC 8-56500-00426-6, a Best By date of 05-04-15, and a Lot Code of 030215-KP. The company has not yet received any report associated with the mislabeled products. Consumers who are allergic to walnuts are encouraged to return the product to the purchase store for a full refund or a product exchange.
