New Jersey-based Blinds To Go has issued a nationwide voluntary recall of thousands of its Blinds To Go custom-made window shades after learning that the chain or the loop holding the blinds might detach from the hold-down device, which might then create a strangulation risk among young children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission stated on March 31.

The affected products were delivered with Smartlift cellular and pleated shades, Blinds To Go custom-made roller shades with Sidewinders, Panel Tracks shades and Serenity shades. About 200,000 units are affected by the recall. The recalled products were sold at Blinds To Go showrooms and at www.blindstogo.com between January 2009 and November 2014. to The company has not received any report of injury.
