$10M awarded to children of James McNair

Retail company giant Wal-Mart agreed to pay $10 million to the children of late comedian James McNair, who was killed in a truck accident in New Jersey last year, Reuters reported on March 20.

The amount of the settlement that will be given to the comedian’s offspring Danita and Jamel was revealed in the papers recently filed in Westchester County. McNair, 62, a.k.a. “Jimmy Mack” was one of the passengers in the limousine rear-ended by a Wal-Mart truck last June 7. Well-known comedian Tracy Morgan and several others suffered serious injuries in the crash. McNair’s female sibling stated that though no amount of money can compensate for her brother’s life, the financial settlement will help his survivors continue their lives.
