Baxter recalls IV solutions over particulate matter contamination risk

Posted on April 13, 2015 3:49 pm under Defective medical products

Baxter is recalling IV solutions, including certain lots of Sodium Chloride Injection, USP, Dextrose Injection, USP, and Lactated Ringer’s Injection, over the possible presence of particulate matter, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration stated on April 9.

The company learned about the possible contamination after a routine test revealed the presence of a particulate material from a solution transmission system pump. The recalled medical products were sold from January 14 to March 5, 2015.

On March 24, the company began notifying the affected consumers about the recall. Those affected are advised to contact the company for details on how to return the product for credit.
