Auto manufacturer Nissan recently issued a recall of 76,242 previous models of Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV) due to potential problem in the fuel pump that may contribute to accidents, Edmunds.com reported on April 10.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall affects the Nissan Rogue 2014 models that have the wrong nickel plating in the fuel pump. The recalled vehicles reportedly are at risk of suddenly stopping during operation, which may contribute to vehicular accidents. Nissan North America told federal authorities that they have not yet received any reports of injuries or crashes involving the defective SUVs. Nissan will fix the problem this month by changing the fuel pumps of the recalled vehicles.
