Hair dryer recalled due to fears of electrocution

Posted on April 24, 2015 3:12 pm under Product Liability

AG Hair issued a nationwide consumer level recall of its Sweet Heat Hair Dryers after learning that the products have not been installed with an immersion protection device, which may pose a risk of electric shock when immersed in water, a report by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) stated on April 21.

About 3,100 products have been distributed at ULTA Beauty and other beauty supply stores and hair salons across the country. Affected products have “Sweet Heat” printed near the nozzle and “AG Hair” just above the handle. Consumers are asked to return the product by contacting the company for a prepaid mailing label and package. As of this date, the company has reportedly received no report of incidents or injuries associated with the issue.
