Massachusetts-based Euro-Pro LLC has issued a nationwide recall of four brands of Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away upright vacuum cleaners after receiving reports that the aluminum wand attached to the vacuum cleaners’ handle might detach and remain energized, possibly causing electric shock to its users, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission revealed on April 22.

The affected model numbers are NV650W, NV651, NV652 and NV660; the number is stamped on a silver sticker at the back of the unit. Date codes of the recalled products begin with 48 or lower and end with 14. The units were sold at Target, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Lowes, Bed Bath & Beyond, and other stores nationwide and online at www.sharkclean.com from August 2014 to March 2015.

The company has already received 62 reports of disengagement. Affected customers are asked to contact the company for a free component replacement.
