An intoxicated driver responsible for a fatal crash in Milwaukee last year was recently sentenced to eight years of imprisonment, CBS 58 stated on April 28.

Aside from the eight years of federal jail time, 49-year-old Victor Santiago was also sentenced in the Milwaukee County Courthouse to five years of extended supervision. Santiago had a blood alcohol level of 0.187 on November 23, 2014 when he fatally struck Alfredo de la O, 63. During the arrest, authorities also recovered 0.23 grams of cocaine in Santiago’s possession. Alfredo’s family reportedly did not seek restitution, according to the prosecuting lawyer.
