Choking hazards pose serious risk to young children

Posted on April 30, 2015 1:48 pm under Product Liability

Young children learn about the world through their senses, including touch. The lips are among the areas of the body most covered with receptor cells, so young kids are known to put things in their mouth in order to better understand it. Because of this, parents should be careful not to give their young children toys that would pose a choking risk.

However, there are still some toys on the market that are promoted as safe for babies and young children but are not designed and manufactured sufficiently to be choke-free. Last February, plastic push toys were recalled by the manufacturer due to a component that might detach and cause choking. A month later, some rocking chairs were recalled due to small parts that might also detach and pose a choking hazard.

Manufacturers should be extra careful when selling toys and childcare products for young children that are most prone to the dangers of choking. If you believe a defective product has caused your child to suffer from undue harm, the legal team at Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ® might be able to help you seek the compensation you believe you deserve.
