An unnamed 22-year-old man is currently being held for his suspected role in an armed robbery and fatal car accident in Milwaukee County, Fox News reported on April 29. The events began at 11:30 a.m. the previous day, when the man reportedly tried to rob a 25-year-old in the parking lot of a US Bank in Milwaukee.

As police rushed to the scene to investigate, the suspect fled northbound on a city street at 60 mph, running a stop sign and fatally colliding with a westbound vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was identified as 54-year-old Edward Adams. Adams was reportedly on a lunch outing when he was suddenly hit at the intersection of 53rd and Center, causing his car to careen into a nearby building. He was killed on the spot.

The suspect was taken to a Milwaukee hospital for treatment of his injuries but has since been released and is currently being held in custody. The charges he will face will be decided by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
