Possible Listeria contamination prompts Canadian food producer recall

Posted on May 11, 2015 4:08 pm under Defective Food Product

Canadian food producer Sun Rich Fresh Foods Inc. is recalling sliced apples and products containing sliced apples produced on its Bramptom, Ontario Canada facility over fears that the products might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a report by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated on May 1.

The agency released the brands, product names, sizes, product descriptions, UPC, lot codes, and best before dates of the products affected. The recalled food products were sold in 10 different U.S. states, including Wisconsin. Only the products from the Bramptom, Ontario Canada facility are affected by the recall; the products all have a 7-digit lot code that starts with 2.

The company initiated the recall after learning about possible Listeria contamination during one of Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s routine samplings.

At Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, Wisconsin residents who have been adversely harmed after consuming a contaminated food product can seek help in holding the food producer accountable for all their losses. Call us at (414) 271-0900 today.
