An estimated 9,073,384 lbs of chicken and beef patty products in the US are being recalled by a Bronx-based company due to mislabeling that may potentially cause harm to some consumers, the Food Safety and Inspection Service reported on April 29.
According to reports, the affected mislabeled patty products from Golden Krust Patties contain egg ingredient that are not included on the product label. At least 17 products in different quantities of the recalled products were distributed nationwide. The misbranding reportedly was discovered by the U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in one of their label reviews. The FSIS and Golden Krust Patties have not received complaints of allergic reaction from consuming the recalled products. Consumers are advised to seek medical attention if they experience an allergic reaction from eating the affected products.
