Police toy cars recalled over choking risk

Posted on May 14, 2015 3:12 pm under Defective Child Care Products

Schylling Inc. is recalling its Police Press and Go toy cars after receiving one report that the hat from the policeman’s head may detach and cause a choking risk to children, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) stated on May 12.

13,200 toy vehicles are covered by the recall. The affected toys have “Schylling Rowley, MA” and UPC number “01964922782” printed at the bottom of the cars. The recalled toys were sold between April 2010 and April 2015 at different gift and specialty retail outlets nationwide.

Choking hazard remains among the most common causes of hospitalization and death among small children. Unfortunately, some cases of choking could have been prevented if toy manufacturers had been responsible enough to ensure a safe product free from choking risks.
