Michigan-based La-Z-Boy is recalling approximately 2,600 of its PowerReclineXRw after receiving reports that the furniture may suddenly tip forward when left in a reclined position, possibly causing injuries, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission stated on May 12.
Three series are affected by the recall: P16, 32P, and 39P, the style numbers, names, and dimensions of which were listed by the CPSC. The affected products were sold at La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries outlets and other furniture stores across the U.S. between January and March this year. To date, the company has received five dealer reports of seats unexpectedly tipping forward.
Affected consumers may contact the place of purchase for a refund or to schedule a repair.
