Hunting boots recalled for failing to protect against snake bites

Posted on May 19, 2015 11:25 am under Product Liability

Rocky Brands Inc. has issued a nationwide recall of about 1,800 of its hunting boots after learning in one of the product demonstrations that the boots’ snake guard might fail to protect users from snake bites, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported on May 18.

The affected boots, which are 16-inches tall, have a product number of RKYS153 and a date code ranging from 12-14 and 01-15 printed on a white label located at the inside shaft of the product. The boots were made available in camouflage style, and were sold at different retailers and online stores nationwide in March.

Customers are asked not to use the product and to contact the company for a full refund. The boots’ snake guard can also be repaired at no cost, but only for certain models.
