Utah-based Vivint Inc. is recalling approximately 213,000 Remotec plug-in dimming and on/off switch modules after the company learned about a defective wire installation that may cause shock hazard to users, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported on May 21.

The recalled products have a model number of ZDS-100US and a serial number starting from 1115 to 1440, both of which can be found printed at the rear side of the units. The affected modules were sold between April 2011 and October 2014 at different authorized dealers nationwide, as well as online at vivint.com. Consumers are advised to contact the company for a free replacement product.
