About 12,500 Youth model Can-Am all terrain vehicles are being recalled over the failure to meet federal standards pertaining to parking brakes and unrestricted maximum speed, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported on May 26.

The affected ATVs are Can-Am Mini DS ATVs with model year 2008 to 2015. The recalled recreational vehicles were made available in either 70 cc or 90 cc engines, and were sold by different Can-Am dealers nationwide between July 2007 and January 2015. Model year 2008 to 2015 Can-Am Mini DS 70 and DS 90 ATVs were recalled for the failure to meet federal standards on parking brakes, while model year 2008 to 2014 DS 70 ATVs were recalled for the failure to meet federal standards on unrestricted maximum speed.
