Simply Balanced Pork Chille Verde recalled due to misbranding

Posted on June 1, 2015 12:17 pm under Product Liability

About 4,038 pounds of pork products are being recalled by Culinary Brands Inc. after learning about misbranding and the presence of an undeclared allergen, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) reported on May 22.

9-oz plastic tray packages of Simply Balanced Pork Chille Verde might contain mushroom risotto with wheat instead of pork. Wheat is a food ingredient that may trigger serious, sometimes life-threatening allergic reactions to those hypersensitive to it. The affected products bear a Lot No. A5089G2, and have an establishment number of “EST. 6009” inside the USDA’s inspection mark.

Customers who have developed health complications after consuming the product should immediately get in touch with a healthcare provider for proper treatment.

Being harmed by a defective product can be disastrous not just physically, but emotionally and financially as well.
