Managing E. coli enteritis

Posted on June 3, 2015 4:29 pm under Defective Food Product

E. coli enteritis is the inflammation of the intestines caused by harmful E. coli bacteria. You may develop this illness three or four days after being exposed to contaminated water or food. Individuals suffering from this disease suffer from bouts of diarrhea, which could lead to life-threatening dehydration.

No treatments have been found yet to treat E. coli infection. Some experts even believe that destroying E. coli with oral antibiotics may only lead to potentially fatal complications, such as hemolytic uremia, or the premature destruction of red blood cells that may lead to kidney failure. Fortunately, most cases of E. coli enteritis are self limiting and only last for a couple of days. If you have E. coli enteritis, the best cure would be to allow your body to get rid of all the toxins. Enough rest and plenty of fluids are needed to fight against the fatigue and dehydration caused by E. coli infection.
